Free Wi-Fi QR Code Sign Maker (Printable, No Signup)

Type your network name and password, pick a template and download a print-ready sign. Guests scan it and connect. Your password never leaves this device: the QR code and the PDF are built right here in your browser.

Never leaves this device

Printing the password helps guests on older phones that cannot join Wi-Fi from a QR code.

Changed your Wi-Fi password? This printed code can't follow.

A Wi-Fi QR code carries the password itself, so a new password means a new print. For everything else guests need, add a second QR code that opens a hosted guest page on StaticFast: house rules, the menu, check-out times, the current Wi-Fi details. Update the page any time and the printed code keeps working.

Printing tips

  • Print at actual size / 100%. Scaling shrinks the quiet zone around the code.
  • Matte paper or lamination scans better than glossy under bright lights.
  • Test the print with your own phone before you hang it. Older phones may need the typed password.

Print the Wi-Fi sign. Host everything else.

A Wi-Fi QR code has to carry the password, so it changes when the password does. Put the rest of your guest information on a hosted page on StaticFast with its own permanent QR code: house rules, menu, parking, check-out. Replace the file whenever you like and the printed code still works.

How it works

From router sticker to framed sign in three steps

No design software and no QR generator that keeps a copy of your password.

  1. 1

    Enter the network

Network name, password and security type, exactly as they are on your router. The preview updates as you type and tells you if the password cannot be right.

  2. 2

Pick a look and a size

Five templates, six sizes, your accent colour, your logo and the language your guests read. Edit the title and subtitle if you like.

  3. 3

    Download and print

A print-ready PDF at the exact physical size, a 1200px PNG for a screen, or just the QR code as PNG or SVG. Print at 100% and hang it.

How guests scan it on iPhone and Android

iPhone and iPad: open the Camera app, point it at the code and tap the Join "Network" Wi-Fi banner that drops down from the top. That works on iOS 11 and later without any extra app. There is no need to open Settings or type anything.

Android: on Android 10 and later the Camera app, or Google Lens, recognises the code and shows a Connect button. On some phones you will find a QR scanner in the quick settings or inside the Wi-Fi settings screen. Older phones may need a scanner app, or the password typed by hand.

That last case is why the sign prints the password as text by default. You can turn it off for a cleaner look if every guest will have a recent phone.

Why it's safe: the password stays with you

Most online QR code generators send what you type to their server, build the image there and keep a log. For a link that is harmless. For your Wi-Fi password it is a copy of your network key sitting in someone else's database.

This tool does not have a server side. The page loads once, then the QR code is computed in your browser, the sign is drawn on a canvas and the PDF is assembled on your device. Open your browser's developer tools, watch the network tab and type: no request contains your network name or password, and none is made when you download.

The honest trade-off: because nothing is stored, your sign only exists in this tab. Download the PDF before you close it, and keep the file so you can reprint.

Frequently asked questions

Is my Wi-Fi password uploaded anywhere?

No. The QR code, the preview, the PDF and the PNG are all generated in your browser. The network name and password never leave your device, and you can verify that in your browser's network tab: nothing fires while you type or when you download.

Does the Wi-Fi QR code work on iPhone?

Yes. Open the iPhone Camera app (iOS 11 or later), point it at the code and tap the "Join Network" banner. No extra app is needed. Guests on older iPhones or iPads can type the password printed on the sign.

Does it work on Android?

Yes. On Android 10 and later, the Camera app or Google Lens recognises the code and offers to connect. Some older phones need Google Lens or a QR scanner app, which is why the sign prints the password as text by default.

What happens if I change my Wi-Fi password?

The printed QR code stops working, because the password is encoded inside it. Reprint the sign with the new password; it takes a minute. For things that change more often, such as house rules or a menu, add a second QR code that points to a hosted page on StaticFast, which you can update without reprinting.

Does it support WPA3?

Yes. WPA, WPA2 and WPA3 networks all use the same WPA setting; phones connect to whichever your router offers. WEP and open networks without a password are supported too.

Can I make a QR code for a hidden network?

Yes. Turn on "Hidden network" and the code tells the phone not to wait for the network to broadcast. The sign also prints a note telling guests to add the network manually if their phone cannot scan it.

Which size should I print?

A4 or US Letter for a wall or a reception desk, 5 × 7 in or 4 × 6 in for a frame or a welcome pack, A6 for a small frame, the Avery 5371 sheet for ten wallet-size cards, and the table tent for cafés and restaurants. Every PDF is laid out at the exact physical size, so print at 100% scale.

Why does my QR code look so dense?

A long password means more data in the code and smaller squares. It still scans fine from a wall sign. For business cards and table tents, keep the password under about 20 characters or expect guests to hold their phone closer.

Can I add my logo and brand colour?

Yes. Upload a PNG, JPG or SVG logo and pick any accent colour. The logo sits above the title, never over the QR code, so scanning stays reliable. The logo is processed in your browser like everything else.

Is it really free? Is there a watermark?

Completely free: no account, no watermark, no limits. It's a free tool by StaticFast, the easy way to host PDFs and small sites with a permanent QR code.
