Print a PDF as a booklet

Any PDF, re-arranged for double-sided printing, folding, and stapling — free, in your browser.

Convert my PDF to a booklet

You have a normal PDF — a manual, a program, a portfolio, a zine — and you want it as a compact booklet: half-size pages, folded in the middle, stapled once through the spine. The catch is that booklet pages can't print in reading order; they have to be shuffled so the fold puts them back in sequence. Here's how to get there without installing anything.

Why "booklet mode" in print dialogs keeps failing

Acrobat's booklet checkbox, printer-driver "pamphlet" modes, and macOS print options all attempt the same shuffle, with three recurring failures: they silently depend on the driver's duplex flip setting (wrong guess = every second page upside down), they offer no preview of what will actually hit the paper, and half of them aren't there at all on the machine you happen to be using. When it goes wrong, you find out after the paper is spent.

A more predictable route

Our free booklet tool does the imposition before printing: drop in your PDF and download a new PDF whose sheets are already paired and ordered — page thumbnails show you exactly what each side of each sheet will look like. You print it as a plain document, double-sided, at 100% scale. What you previewed is what prints, on any printer, from any OS.
